KOVotes (“we”, “us”) operates the fight-prediction game at kovotes.com. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what we do with it. Questions: contact@kovotes.com.
Account information: a username, your email address, and a password (stored only as a secure hash, we cannot see it). If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and name from Google instead; we never see your Google password.
Game activity: your fight picks, points, and leaderboard standings. Your username and results are visible to other users; your email never is.
Optional payout handle: if you choose to add a Cash App cashtag or Bitcoin address so we can send you prizes, we store it. It is receive-only information, visible only to you and the site administrator, and never shown publicly or sold.
Security and anti-abuse data: like nearly all websites, our servers keep short-lived logs (IP address, request time) for security, such as rate limiting. To keep prizes fair, when you sign in we also store scrambled (one-way hashed) versions of your IP address, network and browser type, which let us spot several accounts run by one person. We never store these in readable form, use them only for security and prize review, and delete them after 180 days.
We use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in and to remember preferences (like dark/light theme). We do not use our own tracking cookies.
Advertising: we intend to display ads served by Google AdSense on this site. When we do, third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, and learn more at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Sign in with Google: if you use it, Google sets cookies as part of its sign-in service, governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
To run the game (scoring picks, showing leaderboards), to send you account emails (verification codes, and an optional once-per-event pick reminder you can turn off on your profile), and to send prizes to winners who added a payout handle. We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
We use a hosting provider to run the site and an email delivery provider (Resend) to send account emails. They process data only on our behalf. Fight data is sourced from publicly available information.
We keep your account data while your account exists. You can delete your account permanently from your profile at any time, which removes your account and your picks. You can also email contact@kovotes.com from your account email to request deletion; payout handles can be removed any time on your profile.
KOVotes is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date above and note it on the site. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
